The Trip To D.C.

Sorry for the long pause...now on with the story! So that night we left for Washington D.C. The drive was soooo long. When we finally got to our hotel we all went straight to bed for a short nap. Ross, Tharp, Kristina, and I were all in one room with Stu, Shelly, Moe, and Nick in the other. Kristina and I shared a bed, and I was kind of worried about it at first, but at that time I was too tired to care, I could have shared a bed with Tharp and not cared. After our naps we went to the conference and registered and hung out. Kristina and I were inseparable. The reason being is because I was the only one who could put up with her, I just didn't know it at the time. The conference was beautimous! It was a great time, and hearing Dr. Baker lay it down on the Chibolka! The next morning Kristina's alarm went off, she got out of bed to reset it, then when she got back into bed she randomly put her arms around me! I was trying to say mabye we should get up, but when she did that I quickly said never mind and I kept quiet. It felt great, but I was scared out of my wits at the same time. I didn't want to move in too quickly and I still didn't know what she was thinking. Maybe I should have showed more affection back, but it didn't feel right to me and now I understand why. The last night of the conference at the concert we were writing notes to each other on the program, and the last thing she wrote she told me I couldn't see it. So later she hands me the program and tells me not to look at it...so good ole me doesn't look. I asked her about it later and she finally said sure. It read "Kristina Wilson loves you Ryan Francis". I was pretty stunned and I didn't know what to say about it. Later on when we were talking back in Morehead I did tell her that I loved her, and she told me she loved me too. This all took place before March. These were some great times, and they are the only good memories I have of Kristina because it's before she decided to play both Moose and me. Maybe at one time she really did care, but the past is the past.

The Looong Story

So my story with Kristina begins about the same way everyone else's does. Here's this attractive girl that intimidates the piss out of everyone! Since everyone is trying to get with her, I do the fat guy thing and just let it go. My first encounter with her was in my intro. to music reading class. Half way through the semester I was more open with jokes and she would join in with me and some others. That spring I pledged Phi Mu Alpha while she pledged Sigma Alpha Iota. Now Kristina is one of those girls that gets along with guys better than girls, so most of the people she hung out with were in Phi Mu Alpha. This of course led to trouble...guys get jealous, and, well, when we look back at it now Kristina was a little "too friendly" with some of the brothers and pledges. I didn't have any classes with Kristina this semester and the only thing I knew about her was that she had played my good friend Jon. She cheated on Moose with Jon, and then left Jon for his roommate Joe (Rico).

Now we come to our second year at Morehead. When we got back Kristina had started dating our brother Matt Smith while they were on tour with the drum corps. Sounthwind. This was an odd relationship from the outside looking in. The way everyone saw it at times was it looked like Kristina was doing everything she could to make Matt happy, and he just didn't care. I had Music Reading II with Kristina this year and we started to become friends here. We would cut up in class and I would always get on to her and Moose for skipping class. Also Chris and I started what we called "ADUC Days". Where we would go up to ADUC student center and eat lunch to get a different taste of things. We started a following and Kristina was one that joined us, so we got more close. The semester went on and we had some great laughs but I never thought of dating her. We were cramming for our Music Lit. final in my room with her and Chris and some others, and I made the comment that I didn't think I could date Kristina because she acted too much like my family...kind of wish I had taken my own advice.

Now, to quote Moose, on the juicy stuff. After we got back from Christmas break I was walking around Barid and I heard a trumpet practicing (hehe a bad trumpet player). I look through the window and it's Kristina. I walk in and we start talking and she gives me this spill on how she thinks Matt is going to break up with her soon and she doesn't know what she'll do. She notices my cell phone and we exchange numbers and then I left. The semester is going on, and all of a sudden her and Matt start having these arguments...I mean it was like Heaven vs. Hell they were so bad. Matt finally called the relationship off, but Kristina couldn't deal with that and kept fighting. I felt bad bad for her, and I was trying to be a friend and help out...and that of course is how it started. I saw her down one day, so I invited her to go with us to eat off campus and get away from the stress. Well the first time we tried this Matt saw us going and sent her a text message just to get her started, so we drove around to his dorm to invite him to come with us. They argued and by the time they were done we didn't have any time to eat. So we had to take a raincheck. The next chance we had to go out and eat I had a car load. My big, Shawn Denny, Chris Paul, and Kristina. After we ate we decided to drive around and play the "car game" you know Punch Bug, Ram!, Backhand Van, ect. Well, Kristina had a blast doing so, and my shoulders can tell you how excited she got when she saw a car, geesss! Anyway, we get back to campus and go to our rooms. I get up to my room and I start talking to Kristina on AIM. Then out of the blue she ask me what I'm doing Friday, and if I'd like to go see the movie Cold River. What she didn't know was I was leaving with the tuba/euph. studio to Washington D.C. for a conference and not getting back till Sunday. When I told her that, she got ticked and wanted to know why no one told her. She calmed down and then I had to start packing, and she had to go talk with Matt. Well, as I finish packing someone knocks at our door and it's Kristina. She and Matt got in another argument, and as she was walking by Barid Ross Morgan started talking to her to see what was wrong. Once she finished he said you should come to D.C. with us. Well, she was hesitant at first but Ross said he'd pay for her and she was in. She was excited and the next thing I knew we were all on our way to Washington D.C. ...where my life would never be the same again...

Story Time!

All right people, if you look on my side bar you will see a new link, Moose's blog. Moose and I are brothers, and best friends...now. But our friendship hit a big snag this past semester and that snag's (or nag's) name is Kristina Wilson. To think that I could have lost a best friend over this now is scary, but what's worse is Kristina almost separated me from all of my brothers, and she definitely put a gap between me and my best friends outside of the brotherhood. So ladies and gents, get ready for a loooooooong story. I'll give you some time to prepare yourself, and grab some refreshments. Also, you all should check out Moose's blog and get his side of the story, since his starts before mine. Till then take it easy!
