Happy Birthday to ME!!!

So, I'm now 22...and nothing is different. Wow, so much has went on and I've not posted about it, in a way that's good because I don't feel the need to vent it on here (since I'm going to be a teacher I really can't blog about my students, and I have no intentions of doing so). But I'm glad that I got to spend my birthday with my parents, first time I've done that since I've started college I believe. I love my friends, but I really just needed to get away again. Next year is going to be so different with Josh and Calvin student teaching, I will miss them but it is also another opportunity to become closer to some other brothers, and that will be good to pass on the wealth of knowledge I have stowed away in my head...ok, so it's in my stomach but I can at least pass it on. So, the Baird elevator tried to eat my tuba! Stupid thing dented the third and fourth valve slides. Yay for having a guy going into instrumental repair who takes horns on the weekends and fixes them! He's also, for lack of a better term, "pimping" it out. Just some minor stuff to make it work smoother, I like smooth. I'm also wanting to do some doubling on bass trombone. I was playing horn in varsity band and one day while playing I thought to myself "wow, I'm getting pretty good at horn." Then I went to play tuba and it sucked, through a big ole straw. So that had to stop, so I'm borrowing Matt Smith's bass trombone, which is actually Robert Hawkins' bass trombone for varsity band, and I have my old pea shooter in the room, and I now have Richard's large bore tenor with F attachment to brush up on...my slide technique. (ha! I didn't end in a preposition!) So, yea that's my life in a nut shell for the moment...oh yea I'm FEO for another semester...can't believe that happened but at least it will be good training time for the person who is FEO after me. Ok, my hands hurt from typing this update on my parents computer, so you all take it easy, and God bless you all on my birthday...and every other day. :D
